Boys Boys Boys. . .

~Sept, 2012
We had some visitors over and of course A and E were bouncing off the walls. Head butting their legs, jumping on their back and freaking out. So I chucked them both in the kitchen and told them, "You are out of control." Angrily A turns to me, hands on his hips and snaps, "No Mom! YOU are out of control!"

A comes up to me and tells me very officially, "Mom, I'm smarter than you. I'm not smarter than Dad, but I am smarter than you."

A and E were wrestling today and it was A's day. He was doing really good keeping his little brother subdued, although E put up a pretty good fight. Once they were finished, Daddy and I told E he did a really good job! He looked over at Daddy M angrily from the floor and said, "No, I din not!!" he flailed his arms on the ground and continued, "He's still alive!"

E and A were playing T-ball today with A's new gear. I of course laid down the rules. No hitting anyone with the bat. No swinging at the ball until every body and body part is clear. Simple enough. Not 5 minutes into it, I hear a blood curdling scream from A. E runs inside, eyes big, and says, "I din'n know what I was doing!" Big brother had a pretty good goose egg on his head.

Thanks for the Help

Can't think of a title that will fit this entire post well enough so this is what you get...

Ethan's new thing is to climb the stairs and at almost each space he sticks his head between the bars and smiles. Ayden saw me taking pictures and ran over to join the photo op.

We tried a few weeks ago to potty train Ayden.... IF for some reason you ReAlLy didn't know the outcome, it was a bust. Just like we thought it would be. BUT before we gave up for a later date, I caught Ayden in the kitchen looking rather cute in his undies and boots.

We for some reason in this home find it necessary to feel fulfilled and happy if we get to destroy the couch pillows- so as a part of our self worth/esteem boosting, we buried Daddy and then crawled all over him or tried to find him.

Really does wonders for the self esteem.

On a more exciting note! We had an awesome Thanksgiving! McKay and I drove 6 hours to Boise to be with my relatives and family. We learned a few things while driving.
  • Ethan has a 5 1/2 hour limit on how long he can be in the car before it gets ugly. . .
  • Ayden likes to watch movies AND kick the laptop that is playing the movies.
  • If its Sunday then no matter how much junk food we have in the car, if we're traveling, we're going to stop to get something to eat.
  • Front seats of GMCs are the most uncomfortable things to sleep in.
  • And lastly, as a driver you must make up stupid songs to keep yourself awake and everyone else in the car as well.
We got to have a massive Thanksgiving Dinner, it wouldn't be right if it wasn't huge and loud and busy and full of kids! We missed out on having the more colorful relatives there. Too bad too! They're the life of the party! But we made do. There were games ALL over the place; settlers, Ticket to Ride, Rook, Speed Scrabble- my sister's college game which was a version of signs/big booty. If you don't know what that is then. . . well . . . too bad. It was fun and silly and definitely a college game. I'm sure there were more than went on, but I can't think of any others. Some of the kids went to see a movie. Why Thanksgiving has ever been associated with going to the movies is beyond me... BUT we went anyway. McKay was nice and took me to see New Moon. LET me be very clear here! I was not dying to see it by any means, but I did want to see it. I am pretty much a fair weather fan when it comes to most things. The movie was good. Will I see it again? Naw. Was Jacob ripped... yeah... but not enough for most the women in the theater to *gasp* in harmony and then start laughing!  *face slap!* McKay liked Jacob the best, he was the most level headed character in the movie according to him. I'll have to admit he was right.
The random photos are unfortunately the only ones I have of Thanksgiving. The one above and the few below are of my parents playing with Ayden on the porch swings. How Ayden doesn't slide off at times is a mystery to me. But he sure loved his grandparents. They're too young to be called that! How about newparents?? hmmm... maybe not. I'll have to ponder that one.

Ethan had a little puppy friend that would lick his face whenever he was on the floor. Ethan would screech at the puppy and swat at her face. If that didn't work, he'd try to crawl away as fast as he could with the dog still licking his face. Needless to say the pooch got in trouble after it didn't become fun anymore. :) We caught Ethan with Maya- the dog- sucking on his bottle. Ethan was drinking it and since he's still not a pro drinker some would dribble out of the side of his mouth, where the little puppy would lay there licking his cheek.

McKay and I saw the BYU holy wars game. The first and last BYU game we'll probably watch this year. Remember? Fair weather fan here!

Once we got home Sunday it was time to clean up and get the plastic on the windows since its cooling down. Ayden was helping me or rather he was playing with the plastic that covers the double sided sticky tape you use to hold the plastic on the windows. Its pretty thick plastic and somehow he managed to slice clear across his pinky finger with it. As soon as the blood started to come out he freaked. I got him washed up and settled down.... went to grab a band-aid and neosporin... and he decided to rub his eyes with the hand that had the cut on it. It started to bleed again and he lost it. I was surprised with how much blood could come out of a little tiny cut on a little tiny person! We finally managed to get the Scooby Doo band-aid on and Blue's Clue's started; where he sat and delicately held his wounded hand up. We take paper cuts pretty serious around here. :)

Sorry the potty training was a bust. Hopefully he got familiar with it and will want to try again.......looked like you guys had an eventful T-day! Funny thing is, we went to the movies on Thanksgiving too and I have always wondered too why there is an association with the movies and t-day.

If you like Speed Scrabble, you might be interested in trying Online Speed Scrabble.

Though considering how eventful your weekend was, I'm not sure how you could possibly fit it in! :)
