Ayden is my little helper. He does the best job that he can do. Its very exciting around here when I begin to make banana bread. Ayden will run around at my feet asking, "You make mana bread!? You make mana bread!?..." until I tell him yes. And then a few seconds later he'll forget that I just answered him and he'll ask me again. He won't stop asking until I respond with that he wants to hear. You can imagine how this might get annoying after he's asked for the umpteenth time and you've responded mostly nice every time. Mostly.
Today I noticed another little rugrat at my feet. Ethan had come to join hounding party. But at least he was being nice a quiet about it.
I decided that once I'd collected the ingredients, I would sit on the ground and mix it so they could watch.
I told Ayden that Ethan needed a turn too. Ayden gracefully handed over the mixing spoon and carefully watched Ethan go.
Ayden firmly calculated the situation after about 10 seconds and told Ethan, "Bruder, let me help you." He reaches over to take the spoon. Ethan screeches and Ayden stops. A few more seconds pass, "Eeesen not like dat!" Once again he reached over and Ethan belts out another protest. Ayden miraculously stops! But now he's really jumpy and anxious, "Eeesen let me do it, isss my turn!" He again grabs for the spoon. Ethan has about had it with Ayden. He's ready to get violent and wack Ayden in the head with the spoon. So I intervene. I took the spoon away and made it my turn to mix again. This is when the ingenious idea of recording them came into play... again. Observe.
I'm so smart sometimes its shocking!! How could I ever think nothing would go wrong when one of my hands is unavailable and I'm trying really hard to keep the camera focused on my kids!? It makes me smile just watching the video.
We finally finished our banana bread and hopefully it will come out beautifully! I can't wait!
By the way- here is the recipe I go from. Its sooooo delicious! http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/banana_bread/

Wow Ethan is so grown up looking. Did he just get a hair cut? And I noticed on your other post that you were listening to conference while you were "packing". What does that mean? Are you guys moving?
So cute! I love the videos! Chris and I just spent the weekend with my cousin and his two boys. They are 2 years and 10 months. They act just like your two! It's adorable!
