Daddy got his appendix taken out, so we sent the boys to Grammy and Papa's house. A had a bit of trouble with this. He woke up twice in the night screaming. The first time he was having a nightmare and Grammy came to his rescue. The second time Papa came and asked him what was wrong. Groggily he responded, "I don't feel safe." Surprised, Papa asked him what he said. A, looked right at Papa, and gave him the ornery 'I cannot believe you did not hear me look', tilted his head and said, " I... do. not... feel... safe." Clearly Papa must be hard of hearing, so speaking slowly makes the difference.

We took a trip to Oregon a few days ago and when you land at the PDX airport, you come in really close to the Columbia River, my son A noticed this and screamed: WE'RE GONNA LAND IN THE RIVER!!!!

A while in the grocery store pointing to the rogue bird flying around: Mommy, the birdie is detting his groceries. He needs to get food for his nest!

My son E was sitting in my lap and up comes my son A, he looks at me, points to my lap, and calmly, but officially says, "Mom, you're missing anuder lap for me." Needless to say, I made room for my little cutie!

A: It's doe-ing to be SO much fuuun!

A from downstairs conspired with E: E let's doe upstairs and till (kill- which he said menacingly) Mommy and Daddy!

Me: A, that's not very nice. We feed you!

A creeps slowly upstairs with an evil grin holding out his murder weapon- a spinning toy light. He walks slowly toward us and pokes both of us in the head. M "dies" and then I do. A laughs at his triumph and then decides to revive Daddy by kissing him. Which always works after you till someone.

While we're driving in the car, A decides to keep talking and talking and talking. I tell him to shoosh because I can't hear the people I'm talking to and he responds with: Shhhh Mommy! Knock dat attitude off!

A and E are sitting on a chair together watching Avatar: The Last Airbender with me when out of the blue A hugs E and says, "Eesen, you're my best friend." :)

A is looking at bugs while we're outside and he finds one,"It's an ant Mommy. Dotta till it!!" He looks around for a weapon. Finds a stick and wacks the thing to death, looks at me sweetly and says, "Awwww, it's all better now. I made it feel better!."

A thinks for a bit, brightens and explains: Because I not sposed to be asleep!

Me: What about tonight?

A more firmly: Nope! I not sposed to be asleep ever!

Anytime we are driving and A sees that we have to stop, he reminds us of the driving rules: Red means stop, green means go! and lellow means go fasterrr!!

While trying to change E's poopy diaper with him fighting me tooth and nail, I became exasperated, finally telling him, "E! You should be thanking me for this. I'm giving you a fresh diaper kid!"

He stops wiggling all over the place. Looks straight at me and calmly says, "day-doo. Day-doo" (thank you). For the rest of the diaper change, he lay there nice and still for me.

A is sitting there with rock in hand, glowering at me and then we both started to smile and busted up laughing. I was laughing because the thought that I actually had to yell at another human being for trying to eat a rock was hilarious to me and A... he was laughing because I was laughing.

I've been working around the house today and was noticing A unstacking our books and piling them in the corner. I assumed he was just making a big mess, but he started to step on the books and stretched himself as high as he could, reaching with all his might up against our entertainment center. I asked: "A, what are you doing??"
A with his hands stretched high and his foot pointed out like a ballerina: "I'm... um, detting up to thee uh... sky!"

A and I went shopping and we stopped in at an athletic store. I found some things I liked and we went into the dressing room so I could try them on. As soon as I took my shirt off. A yelled at the top of his lungs, "YOU DAT NIPPLES MOMMY!!" I. could. have. died. *No nipples were present during this encounter, besides maybe A's as he flashed me.*

I went upstairs to say hi to Daddy, A was in the same room as us as Daddy greets me with, "Hello Lover!" and gives me a hug.
A runs over and exclaims "I lover you too Mommy!" and bear hugs my leg. :)

After I put A to bed for the third time; I slowly hear a door open. *pause*
Me: A. GO. TO. BED!
A: I go show you ahh the tunnel!
Me growing more stern and annoyed: Go to bed A!
A: I go show you the tunnel taye Mommie! Taye!
Me yelling up the stairs: Go to bed!
A slams the door shut where I can slightly here: Fine taye huuuuuuuuh. I'n really tare.
meaning:*Fine ok. huuuuuuh I don't really care* And the tunnel is our play tunnel that he has coincidentally downstairs by me. Which I've seen a million times.

The antics of a two year old... run headlong into a wall or the couch or maybe the corner of the couch. Mommy doesn't know which. Come back crying, I mean actually crying, none of this fake business, because we smashed our nose hard enough to make it bleed... And the only thing I'm thinking is: 'You did this to yourself! Pay attention to where you're going!'

While driving the car with my son A, I hear this conversation in back.
Random shuffling noises, then A: Owww book! That hur' me. Don' do that! *Thwump!* See. . . dat hur' (I'm assuming he punished the book)
A not saying anything for about 30 seconds, then contritely and sorrowfully: I sorry book. I din mean to. *He hugs and kisses the book, which I only heard the kissing* I sorry. . .

A was riding in the car with M this morning and overheard this conversation A had with himself and the sun.
A: Ow sun! You hurt my eyes! Go timeout. *While pointing off in some direction* Over der!

On my way home from dropping M off at work I hear A in the background.
"A cheese car! A cheese car!"
I looked around for this supposed cheese car and found that he was pointing to a 'police car'
I of course will not be telling him how to pronounce it correctly, cheese car is much cooler than police car!

Our Son E likes to yell at A, a few days ago in the car he began to yell at his brother. A looked at him and commanded "Be Twiet Brother!" but E just yelled louder...so what did A do? He yelled louder "BE TWIET BROTHER!!!" and so on until they were both in a screaming match that ended with M screaming the loudest for them to knock it off. (A 2 1/2 E 10 months) Ohhh the irony.

A while sitting on his little toilet and holding both his hands up asks me: Where diapers go?
Mommy: They're all gone. We threw them away.
A as he looks around the bathroom and then rolls his eyes at me: Uhhhhhh.... suuuure Mommy. (A 2 & 3 months)

Boys Boys Boys... Part I

A gets up every morning and knocks on his own bedroom door saying: "Hello? Is anyone there?" *pause* *4 knocks* "Hello? Where are you?" *pause* *4 more knocks* "Hello? Hello?" and repeat until I go get him.

M went in to get A up and A stood up quickly and said, "Ooh Saw-ree! saw-ree!"
M: "Why are you sorry?"
A: "I tootied." Which means he poopied and he said this while reaching down to squish the backside of his diaper.
I lately have been voicing my frustration to having to change what has been at least,3-4 poopy diapers a day and didn't think A was really listening to my ranting. Now the poor guys feels bad for pooing. Oops
