Boys Boys Boys. . .

~Sept, 2012
We had some visitors over and of course A and E were bouncing off the walls. Head butting their legs, jumping on their back and freaking out. So I chucked them both in the kitchen and told them, "You are out of control." Angrily A turns to me, hands on his hips and snaps, "No Mom! YOU are out of control!"

A comes up to me and tells me very officially, "Mom, I'm smarter than you. I'm not smarter than Dad, but I am smarter than you."

A and E were wrestling today and it was A's day. He was doing really good keeping his little brother subdued, although E put up a pretty good fight. Once they were finished, Daddy and I told E he did a really good job! He looked over at Daddy M angrily from the floor and said, "No, I din not!!" he flailed his arms on the ground and continued, "He's still alive!"

E and A were playing T-ball today with A's new gear. I of course laid down the rules. No hitting anyone with the bat. No swinging at the ball until every body and body part is clear. Simple enough. Not 5 minutes into it, I hear a blood curdling scream from A. E runs inside, eyes big, and says, "I din'n know what I was doing!" Big brother had a pretty good goose egg on his head.

Thanks for the Help

Timeout

It's been a slightly chilly day today, but I still felt it was nice enough for a walk, which I know has nothing to do with my Title- but we're getting there! Anyway- Mckay had all of our strollers in the car... so Ethan got to ride on my hip in a carrier and Ayden walked. Which is what I was planning on doing anyway with Ayden. We strolled around the neighborhood, picking flowers out of people's gardens, stepping on unsuspecting bugs, and jumping over every crack saying *Boink!* It was lots of fun. Ethan just sat and enjoyed the walk. By the time we got home he was asleep and Ayden was ready for a nap. Of course though- there is no way that the two boys can be asleep at the same time. Ethan woke up just as I was settling down to relax. Which is where this photo came from. He was swiftly set down to play with his toys so I could continue to rest a bit. Neither of us could complain. He had his toys and I had the wonderful, huge, soft, warm couch!
Now for the timeout business. Ayden doesn't get in trouble all that often, but lately he's developed this habit of hitting and throwing things at me. Which frankly I'm not too thrilled about. So... he gets timeout. As you can see above, he's terribly distraught when he's in timeout. I was trying to sneak a picture of him peeking his head out, but he saw the camera and put on a big fat grin. The photo below is more along the lines of what he does. Now! Before I get all these comments about how cruel I am putting my two year old in timeout like this... I need to explain that HE is the one that sticks his nose right into the corner like that and doesn't move! I just stick him over there and he takes care of the rest. It is incredibly hard to be mad at him when he's so cute. Once he hears me walk over to let him come out he'll turn around and quickly say 'saawree, saawree! Hug? Hug?' which is where he'll throw his arms out waiting for a big hug from me. Needless to say, he's got it all worked out already to get out of his sentence as fast as he can.

ahaha- well he started it! And I don't have the heart to keep him there for longer than two minutes anyway. I mean look at him! He's really torn inside when he has to stand there, just check out that big cheesy grin!

His self-inflicted punishment with his nose in the corner is so cute!

Ha ha ha! That's so funny! Don't feel too bad, Brynlee will ask to be put in timeout on occasion when she knows she's been naughty. :) He he! It makes me laugh when she does.

Haha that is soooo cute! McKay showed me the last picture the other day. And there's nothing wrong with putting your child in timeout, lol. You have to start sometime, and at least you're not beating him.
